What can I expect from a therapy session?

My work is client centered. Meaning, the therapeutic goals and treatment approach are customized to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client. Your therapy will be for you.

You will have the opportunity to determine your best hopes, share experiences, reflect, explore emotions and ways of thinking, and look at things from different perspectives. You can find coping skills and develop different ways of thinking that can help lead to lasting change. You can address various mental health, situational and relational issues.

The process will be highly individualized. After all, it's about you becoming the best version of yourself and living the life you want.

What's the investment?

Therapy is a financial commitment. It’s an investment in yourself and your ability to become aware of self-sabotaging patterns and more capable of practicing new, more effective thoughts and behaviors. This – this ability to think and behave more effectively – can profoundly and positively impact your future relationships, your work, your health, and even your finances. If you’re like most of the individuals I work with, you’ve likely already invested a lot of time and energy and money into your education, your career, your home, and your physical health. I truly believe that investing in therapy as an act of self-care can be a continued investment in your overall wellbeing and success in life.

Good Faith Estimate Notice: Under California law, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” for your medical care costs. Providers must give uninsured or self-paying patients an estimate for medical services. You can request a Good Faith Estimate from your provider before scheduling. If your bill exceeds the estimate by at least $400, you can dispute it. Keep a copy of your estimate for reference. For more information, visit the following California website: No Surprise Act

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy.
If you cancel after 8:00 AM on your appointment day or don't show up within 15 minutes of your session time, you'll be charged the full session fee.

How long are the sessions?

A standard session is 50 minutes. A half session is 30 minutes.

What ages do you work with?

I provide services to clients who are 12 years of age or older.

Do you take insurance?

I don't accept insurance as a form of payment. Insurance companies often require a diagnosis after the first session, influencing treatment decisions moving forward. I prioritize collaborative therapy without external pressures. Furthermore, when working with insurance companies, everyone handling your claim can access your treatment file, records, and diagnosis, thus waiving client confidentiality.
Instead, I operate as an "out-of-network" provider. I can provide a monthly superbill for PPO plans for potential reimbursement. However, coverage for part or all of the session total isn't guaranteed. I strongly encourage you to check with your provider about mental health benefits, out-of-network coverage, deductible status, session limits, coverage amounts, and referral requirements. You can contact your insurance company by calling the number on the back of your insurance card.
